Zandar MX MultiViewers bring plasma to European sports broadcasts

Spain-based companies looking to get digital signage advertisements on the air during major European sporting events will now be hawking their wares on more efficiently run broadcasts.

MultiViewer systems vendor Zandar Technologies is helping bring sporting events to homes across Spain with the installation of MX MultiViewers in the new outside broadcasting (OB) trucks of MediaPro, Spain's largest OB fleet operator.

MediaPro will leverage its partnerships with major European sports leagues. The company holds the rights for major soccer games as well as other sporting events and uses its OB fleet at sports stadiums across the country. The Zandar MX MultiViewers in each truck take feeds from location cameras and sport slo-mo servers, displaying multi-image plasma screens for the operational staff to view the key action. By using multiviewer technology, MediaPro is able to simultaneously display up to 16 source signals on a single screen, which has saved vital rack space and reduced installation costs.

This approach allows operators to view images more easily, which is particularly important in this environment where fast creative decisions are required at live events.
