UTStarcom signs deal for Indian IPTV roll-out
UTStarcom has signed a three-year contract through its partnership with AKSH Optifibre to deploy its RollingStream end-to-end IPTV solution with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam in India. The contract represents the first commercial IPTV deployment in India, and AKSH Optifibre is the first company to launch IPTV in India.

Kasenna, BCC join forces on Russian IPTV project
Kasenna has announced it is working with St. Petersburg, Russia-based system integrator Business Computer Center (BCC) to implement an IPTV solution for Russia's Southern Telecom Company (UTK).
The deployment uses Kasenna's PortalTV solution, including Mediabase Video on Demand (VOD) server platform; 40 Network PVR (NVPR) channels with pause live TV; and vFusion, its content delivery and management tool.

CBS launches 2007 edition of NCAA March Madness on Demand
CBS SportsLine has begun taking sign-ups for VIP access to its NCAA March Madness on Demand (MMOD) service.
MMOD is the online player that provides free live streaming video from the first 56 games of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship as they are broadcast by CBS Sports. During its inaugural use last year, MMOD served 19 million streams of live and archived game action.

Corvette Telecom to secure IPTV service with Verimatrix solution
Moscow broadband Internet access provider Corvette Telecom and its subsidiary, City TV, have selected the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) to provide digital video content security for its new IPTV network. Corvette telecom plans to launch the IPTV and video-on-demand services under the City TV brand name in 2007.

CENIC, OSTN to provide IPTV to California educators
The Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) has partnered with Open Student Television Network (OSTN) to deliver IPTV via the California Research & Education Network (CalREN) to 9.5 million end users.
CalREN connects 10 University of California campuses; 23 California State University campuses; all California community colleges; the California K-12 system; the Naval Postgraduate School; and many of California's independent universities, such as Caltech, University of Southern California (USC), Stanford University, University of San Diego (USD) and University of San Francisco (USF).
OSTN provides educational and foreign-language IPTV content, as well as student-produced programming. CENIC is a nonprofit corporation that owns, operates and manages CalREN on behalf of California's K-20 research and education community.
