Sky Angel adds two channels to IPTV lineup
Sky Angel has added INSP, The Inspiration Network, and i-Lifetv, Inspirational Life Television, to its IPTV platform, the company announced last week.
Sky Angel IPTV offers television viewers a wide variety of Christian-based channels, as well as family, sports and news programming, through a high-speed Internet connection to the TV set.

Team Lightbulb issues call for technology papers, sessions at Telecom2009
Team Lightbulb has begun accepting proposals for telecom technical papers and IPTV sessions for Telecom2009: Broadband and Beyond. Telecom2009, produced by Team Lightbulb, features sessions on the business of IPTV and telecom technology. Submissions must be made by Dec. 12, 2009; accepted presenters will be notified by Jan. 15, 2009.
Telecom2009: Broadband and Beyond will be held at the NAB Show, April 19-23, 2009, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Amino acquires Tilgin set-top box division
Amino Communications has signed an agreement to acquire Tilgin's IPTV set-top box division for $3.58 million, the company said last week.
The purchase, which includes Tilgin’s range of H.264 HD IPTV STBs within the Mood product line, enhances Amino's product portfolio and adds new software functionality across the entire range.

SES AMERICOM turns to Verimatrix to secure IP-PRIME distributed content
SES AMERICOM is adopting the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for IPTV content security for its IP-PRIME distribution service targeted to North American telecom operators, Verimatrix announced Nov. 11.
Verimatrix is providing a comprehensive security architecture that enables end-to-end encryption for multichannel SD and HD broadcasts from the IP-PRIME Broadcast Center, while enabling seamless integration of local broadcast and VOD services.

ViewCast Niagra streams 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards
MTV Networks Europe relied on the ViewCast Niagara Pro media encoder Nov. 6 to stream the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards live over the Web to millions of viewers globally.
Supplied by Garland Partners in the U.K., the Niagara Pro allowed fans to watch the 15th annual awards show from Liverpool's Echo Arena on their computers and mobile devices.
