ITN selects Rhozet transcoding for mobile, broadband distribution

U.K. news and multimedia content company ITN has selected Harmonic’s Rhozet Carbon Coder for transcoding and packaging news and other multiplatform content for customers worldwide.

ITN delivers broadband content through a variety of outlets, including Vodafone, MSN, Yahoo!, Orange, T-Mobile, Mirror Group, Virgin Media, Telegraph Group, YouTube and Bebo, and its own online newsroom http://itn.co.uk/.

Rhozet Carbon Coder, deployed in a multi-node farm configuration and working with ITN’s in-house NeMeSys content management system, allows ITN to deliver nearly 1000 video clips each day to its mobile, broadband, IPTV and commercial archive footage clients.

HaiVision and Video Furnace partner on H.264 HD IPTV, IP Video Solutions

Video encoding technology provider HaiVision Systems and Video Furnace have partnered to deliver H.264-based video-over-IP and IPTV HD solutions for a wide range of markets, including enterprise, education and government.

The agreement includes cooperative technical development, systems integration and joint marketing efforts.

Hanaro Telecom selects Corrigent Systems for premium IPTV services

South Korea’s second largest broadband carrier, Hanaro Telecom, has selected Carrier Ethernet transport (CET) provider Corrigent Systems’ CM-100 product line as a main network infrastructure to deliver premium IPTV services.

Corrigent’s technology will enable Hanaro Telecom to provide legacy TDM services together with advanced data services, such as broadcast TV (IPTV), over a converged network infrastructure.

Tilgin wins European order for IMS-based IPTV deployment

Tilgin has been awarded a trial order of its IPTV technology from an unidentified  telecom operator in southwestern European, the company announced last week.

This trial order is part of the operator's new IMS-based IPTV deployment. The operator aims to create an offer based on IMS TV services.

TELUS chooses CopperGate HomePNA technology

Canadian high-speed wireless communications services provider TELUS has selected CopperGate's HomePNA 3.1 technology integrated in set-top boxes and residential gateways for its TELUS TV service offering.

CopperGate's chipsets provide a complete HomePNA 3.1 home networking solution that operates over coax cables and phone wires. CopperGate chipsets comply with the ITU G.9954 (HomePNA 3.1) home networking standard.
