Inside the Internap data center, VitalStream delivers Planetvu's live video using the Windows Media platform.
Internap Network Services and VitalStream Holdings have announced that Planetvu, a developer of multichannel IPTV services, has selected their combined technologies to deliver live, on-demand IPTV programming.
Using Internap's IP connectivity, co-location and route optimization appliances, combined with VitalStream's content delivery network, Planetvu plans to distribute broadcast quality content to more than 205 million unique broadband households in more than 120 countries. Planetvu said the combined technologies overcame packet loss and network congestion, which resulted in a high-quality TV signal.
Once inside the Internap data center, VitalStream delivers Planetvu's live video using the Windows Media platform. The VitalStream content delivery network architecture delivers broadcast-quality video to Planetvu's customers regardless of location, size or device. VitalStream's MediaConsole application allows Planetvu to acquire business intelligence and other metrics such as audience size, location and viewing time needed to assess ROI.
