SeaChange wins VOD contract with North American telecom
SeaChange International said last week it has signed a video-on-demand (VOD) hardware, software and services agreement with a large North American telecommunications company. This five-year agreement currently includes the licensing of VOD-related client set-top box software, SeaChange Axiom-component software and DVD On Demand software.

International Datacasting Corp. receives R&D funding

International Datacasting Corp. has received funding from the National Research Council Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). Subject to the terms of the agreement, the company will receive about $460,000 to fund an advanced R&D project for the next generation of IPTV products.

Tennessee utility selects World Wide Packets for FTTH roll-out
Clarksville, TN, has selected the World Wide Packets Carrier Ethernet solution for a citywide fiber to the home (FTTH) network. The Clarksville Department of Electricity will use the company’s LightningEdge Carrier Ethernet solution to connect residents and businesses to its electrical utility.

The FTTH network will reduce the department’s operating costs on existing utility services while enabling the city to deliver new, revenue generating quad-play broadband services.
