nTelos rolls out IPTV offering
Integrated communications provider nTelos has begun offering residents of Botetourt and Augusta counties and Waynesboro, VA, a fiber-to-the-home-based IPTV service powered by Microsoft Mediaroom.

The service offers more than 200 all-digital channels and 18 HD channels.

Wilson to discuss IPTV troubleshooting at TelcoTV 2007
Danny Wilson, president and CEO of Pixelmetrix, will participate in a panel session to outline effective troubleshooting techniques and strategies at TelcoTV 2007, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. in Room C104 of the Georgia World Congress Center.

IPTV WORLD FORUM ASIA 2007 slated for December
The IPTV World Forum Asia 2007 will be held at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore from Dec. 5-7.

Highlights of the exhibition will include keynote addresses from some of the leading figures within the telecommunications industry, including Low Ka Hoe, director of mio TV & Content for Singtel; Stephen Kim, senior managing director of Hanaromedia; Paul Berriman, CTO for PCCW; and Italo Milanese, senior project leader for Telecom Italia.

WaveDivision deploys Harmonic HFC access solution
WaveDivision Holdings, a cable, Internet and phone services company serving customers in Washington and California, has deployed Harmonic's HFC access solutions for its enterprise and residential services.

Harmonic's scalable FLXLink CWDM commercial services solution allows WaveDivision Holdings to leverage its existing network infrastructure to offer 100Mb/s fiber links to business, government and education facilities for high-speed video and data services.

The company also has deployed Harmonic's PWRBlazer HLN 3142C 1GHz scalable nodes for residential broadcast services, including video-on-demand, data and telephony.

TM Forum to hold Americas event
The TM Forum will hold its annual Americas event Nov. 4-8 at the Adams Mark Hotel and Convention Center in Dallas, TX.

The event will focus on operations and management issues for service providers needing to deliver both today's services and next-generation, content-rich services, including streaming media on demand, IPTV and quad play.

China Netcom delivers channels to Canadian viewers via Genesis Networks
Chinese telecommunications provider China Netcom (CNC) is now carrying a package of Chinese-language television channels to viewers in Canada via Genesis Networks' fiber infrastructure. The package of channels is available from Canadian cable television provider Rogers.
