UAE telco selects TANDBERG Television for IPTV headend
Dubai-based telco du has selected TANDBERG Television’s iPlex UltraCompression IPTV video processing and transcoding system for its IPTV headend serving the United Arab Emirates.
The telco offers more than 15 premium TV packages in 18 different languages from content aggregators and providers worldwide.

HYUNDAI Digital Technology licenses ANT Galio client
HYUNDAI Digital Technology (HDT) has licensed the ANT Galio client for its next generation set-top box (STB) to be targeted at operators worldwide, ANT said last week.
The ANT Galio client supports multiple TV applications running concurrently and allows the introduction of new features and applications without disrupting current service.

Minnesota telcos rely on Calix solution for IPTV over GPON
Three Minnesota telecommunications providers have deployed Calix 700G GPON Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) throughout the state to provide advanced information, communication and entertainment services over fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) networks.
The companies include Paul Bunyan Telephone Cooperative, Garden Valley Telephone and Consolidated Telecommunications.

Viaccess acquires Orca Interactive
France Telecom subsidiary Viaccess has signed an agreement to acquire a 100-percent stake in Orca Interactive for an estimated price of $21.4 million.
Completion of the transaction is subject to its approval by the extraordinary general meeting of Orca Interactive.

Warner Bros. Digital Distribution has promoted Marc Gareton to executive VP, international, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.
