The MGW 5100 lets carriers stream high-quality TV signals over broadband IP or ATM networks such as xDSL and FTTx.

ON Telecoms, an IPTV provider in Greece, has selected a full complement of IPTV headend equipment from Optibase to deliver local and satellite television channels to subscribers.

Optibase provided its carrier-grade streaming platform, the MGW 5100, which is controlled and monitored using Optibase Cluster Manager. The MGW 5100 lets carriers stream high-quality TV over broadband IP or ATM networks such as xDSL and FTTx.

The MGW 5100 is a modular platform that encodes, transcodes, transmits and recasts MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, MPEG- 4 or Windows Media video channels in real time. It is complemented by a suite of professional management solutions for multiple platforms and hundreds of channels that can be distributed from one centralized application.

These capabilities provide headend managers and technical staff with the necessary tools to monitor, diagnose and operate the systems from any location. With MGW 5100, carriers get flexibility, scalability and reliability in an integrated carrier-grade TV streaming platform that combines Optibase's expertise in digital video, DVB encoding and streaming over IP or ATM networks.
