Mar 22, 2007 8:00 AM
At NAB2007, Snell & Wilcox will unveil several new products including the Protus Ph.C video image conditioning system for mobile and Web TV applications.
The Protus Ph.C allows providers of mobile TV and Web TV services to dramatically increase picture quality and reduce bandwidth requirements for delivering content to wireless, IPTV and Internet delivery platforms.
Compatible with virtually any video compression encoder and all compression formats, Protus Ph.C delivers double-digit percentage bandwidth savings for the operator. This bandwidth savings can be used to deliver higher-quality images, including fewer dropped and repeated frames, or to free up bandwidth for the delivery of extra video channels, resulting in higher revenue for the operator.
The company also will roll out the Alchemist Ph.C – HD, an HD version of its standards conversion technology. The product provides a complete standard and format conversion solution in a compact, robust package. As well as offering HD frame rate conversion for both 1080i and 720p standards, it also performs SD standards conversion between 50Hz and 60Hz material, as well as HDTV up/down/crossconversion.
This eBook provides both new and veteran shooters an in-depth understanding of the technology that lies between the camera lens and the recording medium and how to maximize a camera's performance.
File-based technologies have replaced video tape methods for a majority of production and broadcast operations. The worlds of AV and IT are coalescing to create new methods and workflows for media
