Spike TV took interactive television functionality into the living rooms of DIRECTV and DISH Network subscribers for Spike TV’s 2007 “Video Game Awards,” which aired Dec. 9.

Spike TV and interactive TV technology provider Ensequence collaborated to allow more than 20 million DISH Network and DIRECTV viewers to use their existing remote controls to access cheat codes for games, play a classic arcade game and watch trailers for upcoming game releases.

By working with Ensequence, the network was able to build a sophisticated interactive television experience. Viewers were able to use their existing remote controls to unlock hidden, fully interactive content.
