The city council of Manassas Park, VA, voted Oct. 16 to authorize Verizon to offer its FiOS TV service to residents.

The franchise agreement covers more than 4,615 households in Manassas Park.  Verizon now has secured franchise agreements covering nearly 94,000 households in Prince William County.

In Buchanan, NY, the community’s Board of Trustees awarded a video franchise to the company Oct. 15, bringing to 65 the total number of New York communities that have approved video franchises for Verizon.

As with all local franchise approvals in New York, the agreement between Verizon and Buchanan is subject to review by the New York State Public Service Commission.
