Bernstein joins Sports TV4U
TV4U has named veteran national sports announcer Al Bernstein as the host of its Sports TV4U Channel, one of eight channels on a new ad-supported broadband network available on the Internet.

NBC News vice president to deliver keynote
Mark Lukasiewicz, vice president of Digital Media for NBC News, will be among the keynote speakers at the TeleManagement World Americas event Dec. 4-7 at the Adams Mark Hotel in Dallas.
Other keynotes will include addresses by Keith Cambron, president and CEO of AT&T Labs, and Keith Willetts, chairman and founder of the TM Forum.

International Datacasting to resell Irdeto content security
Irdeto has entered into a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with International Datacasting.
Under the agreement, International Datacasting will be granted a non-exclusive license to market and distribute Irdeto’s content security solutions for DVB, PVR and IPTV worldwide.

Verimatrix, Motorola form alliance
Verimatrix has formed a technology alliance with Motorola providing for the integration of its Video Content Authority System (VCAS) with Motorola’s series of IP set-top boxes.
Motorola’s VIP1900 series, which supports HD, SD, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 H.264, as well as digital video recorder functionality, is the first in its line to support the VCAS solution.

Ruckus Wireless joins Orca Interactive IPTV alliance
Ruckus Wireless has joined Orca Interactive’s Interactive Alliance. The combination of Ruckus' MediaFlex NG smart Wi-Fi system with Orca's RiGHTv middleware and service delivery platform for IPTV provides a certified, pre-tested and proven response to market demands for a new model of delivering IPTV services. It also addresses the last 30 meters of the IPTV experience in the home.

Irdeto expands IPTV relationship with Nortel
Irdeto has signed a service delivery agreement with Nortel that allows the company to incorporate its content security solution into Nortel’s fully integrated IPTV solution and directly market it to customers worldwide.
Irdeto plays a key part in Nortel’s IPTV ecosystem, along with market leaders such as Amino, Kasenna, Minerva Networks, and Tilgin.

TVN launches MPEG-4 VOD for IPTV
TVN Entertainment has launched the country’s first end-to-end MPEG-4 video on demand (VOD) delivery platform for IPTV. TVN’s service combines its file-based delivery platform, content licensing and asset management tools.
TVN’s MPEG-4 solution offers all VOD content categories, including studio and independent movies, broadcast and cable networks, events, adult, and specialty VOD networks such as Kids Unlimited and the Karaoke Channel.
