Mar 27, 2007 8:00 AM
Envivio has announced a telco-grade encoder that supports AVS for broadcast and IPTV deployments in the Chinese market.
Delivering broadcast quality, the Envivio 4Caster B3 professional encoder now supports AVS alongside MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 and enables upgradable deployments through the use of updatable firmware.
To support the Chinese conversion to an all-digital broadcasting infrastructure, the 4Caster B3 supports both AVS and AVC/H.264 for broadcast and IPTV installations. The B3 is based on Intel Core micro-architecture, which allows the company to react quickly to market demands for new features. As a result, deployed 4Caster B3 encoders can be modified to enable AVS support with a firmware upgrade
