FTTH expands in Asia-Pacific region, ABI Research says

Broadband access in the Asia-Pacific region has experienced significant growth, but individual markets within the region are at different states of broadband growth, according to ABI Research.

For example, fiber to the home has a 21-percent penetration of the Hong Kong market, but China and India are struggling to encourage greater broadband use, said ABI Research analyst Sere Fong.

Currently, FTTH activity is occurring in the more developed countries of the region, like Japan and South Korea, as well as Hong Kong.
