Kagan Research to hold IPTV-related teleconference
Kagan Research will conduct a free 90-minute audio briefing Oct. 12 entitled “Global Multichannel Competition: The Future Of Cable And Satellite Markets In The Face of IPTV, DTT And Over-The-Top Video.”

Telenor awards TANDBERG Television contract
Telenor Broadcast has awarded TANDBERG Television a contract to provide technology and expertise that will support its move to digital terrestrial TV (DTT) for Norway.
TANDBERG Television will provide its latest products, including its next-generation EN8030 MPEG-4 AVC encoders, its new iSIS 8000 IP multiplex system, and its field-proven nCompass control and monitoring.

Aggregator launches MoëTV
Aggregator has launched its first TV-over-Broadband (TVoBB) service, a Russian language portal aimed at changing how more than a half million Russian speakers living in the UK watch TV.
MoëTV will go live later this month and provide a vast collection of on-demand entertainment, drama, current affairs, films, documentaries, music and children’s programming.

Bellevue, IA, to get FTTP network
Wave7 Optics and Black & Veatch will install the Trident7 Optical Access Platform from Wave7 Optics for a new fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network that will provide triple-play voice, video and data services to more than 1500 homes in the Bellevue, IA, area.
The new network, which replaces the city’s existing 450MHz coaxial cable TV system, is also part of the city’s plan to have unified billing for utility and telecommunications services.
