JDSU adds triple-play support to SmartClass test instrument

JDSU has introduced the SmartClass Triple Play Services (TPS) test instrument, an all-in-one handheld tool for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of IP video, VoIP, IP data and ADSL 1/2/2+ services.
Key features of the SmartClass TPS include triple-play services testing with Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) functionality, advanced IP video analysis, including the ability to test multiple HDTV streams, VoIP phone emulation, and a built-in USB Host 2.0 interface for easy file transfer.
The SmartClass TPS offers advanced test applications, including IPTV quality testing for broadcast and video-on-demand streams, including VMOS and MDI-MLR; the ability to assess VoIP packet stream quality using MOS and R-Factoras well as network delayanalysis; IP Data Throughput Rate verification using FTP or HTTP tests; and the ability to test these services over an ADSL2+ or Ethernet 10/100 interface.
