Modulus Video to unveil StatmuxIP at NAB2007
Feb 27, 2007 8:00 AM
At NAB2007 in Las Vegas, Modulus Video will introduce StatmuxIP, a statistical multiplexing system for the ME2000 family of HD/SD MPEG-4 AVC video encoders from Modulus Video.
Supporting both HD and SD operations, StatmuxIP will deliver efficiency improvements up to 40 percent for multi-program transport stream (MPTS) applications, such as direct-to-home satellite.
StatmuxIP is based on a closed loop methodology using an IP-based signaling infrastructure that yields significant benefits compared to traditional statistical multiplexing solutions. By sending control messages over IP, operators can use LAN/WAN networking to enable geographically distributed encoders to participate in a statistical multiplex and be aggregated into the final transport stream at a central location.
