Path 1 unveils Vx8000 3.0 IP video gateway

May 9, 2006 1:37 PM

Path 1 Network Technologies has introduced the Vx8000 3.0 IP video gateway, a set of network diagnostic tools that use and optimize low-cost public Internet links to transport a variety of digital video formats, including real-time content for SDTV, HDTV and IPTV.

The Vx8000 3.0 offers a comprehensive toolset that identifies loss period, loss distance and jitter. It fixes network anomalies that degrade the reliable transport of high-quality video over the public Internet.

The Vx8000 3.0 is a multiport IP video gateway that offers users the choice of either standards-based Pro-MPEG COP #3 FEC or ClearPath Pro FEC, which provides the additional error protection required for reliable video transport over the public Internet. With Vx8000, broadcasters can deliver real-time, broadcast-quality MPEG-2 transport streams carrying MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and VC-1 video in SD and HD formats.
