MaxLinear’s MxL7001 TV tuner platform is one of the world's smallest silicon tuners.
MaxLinear last week announced the availability of the MXL7001, one of the world’s smallest silicon tuners and the company’s next-generation TV tuner platform.
The MxL7001 is a 1.9mm by 1.9mm single-die, digital CMOS IC tuner that is the foundation for a family of products that can support mobile TV standards worldwide. Featuring digital CMOS process technology, it consumes only 50mW, reducing battery draw and system heat levels. It supports both ISDB-T Segment-1 (UHF) and Segment-3 (VHF) bands without the need for a balun, SAW filter and IF amplifier, allowing a system designer to eliminate these components and reduce both board footprint and BOM costs.
