UDcast’s DVB-H IP Encapsulator now features support for statistical multiplexing.
UDcast has added open-standard support for statistical multiplexing to its DVB-H IP Encapsulator (IPE), the centerpiece in its end-to-end solution for the delivery of television content over DVB-H networks.
The DVB-H standard-compliant IPE, which serves as the interface between digital video sources and the mobile TV broadcasting network, enables the encapsulation of video and audio sources and their multicasting over the DVB-H network to handheld devices. The statistical multiplexing feature allows operators to broadcast more channels in the same frequency and provide a bigger choice of channels.
