Mobile TV is set to be a hot topic at this year’s NAB show, with a number of panel discussions and sessions devoted to it.

Mobile TV will take center stage at several events at NAB2008, from Super Sessions to an entire day of panel discussions devoted to the topic.

The MoTV: Mobile TV and Video Forum, taking place all day on Tuesday, April 15, will examine standards-setting, niche-market programming and mobile advertising and branding, among other current topics in mobile TV. Meanwhile, the Super Session “New Devices, New Opportunities,” taking place the same day, will hash out mobile TV content creation issues. Another Super Session, “Cool Gadgets, Hot Content,” taking place Monday, April 14, will look at which consumer devices are the best commercial bet for content developers.

For the first time, NAB2008 will feature Content Central, a section of the show floor in the central hall devoted to new forms of content delivery, including mobile TV applications. Mobile TV-related areas will include the Mobile Solutions Pavilion as well as the Mobility track of the Content Distribution Forum, which includes the sessions “Finding the Distribution Model for Mobile Video,” “What’s the Life Expectancy of SNG?” and “Mobile Video Standards Wars.”
