AJA Video changes sales structure

AJA Video has reorganized its sales approach in the United States, hiring regional sales managers and a product marketing manager, with the goal of better serving its reseller channel and its customers.

The company has added U.S. and Canadian sales managers in the Northeast, Midwest, Southeast and West.

The new sales and product marketing management team includes:

  • Bryce Button, product marketing manager
  • Jay Ignaszewski, sales territory manager, Northeast
  • John Ladle, sales territory manager, Midwest
  • Jeff Way, sales territory manager, western U.S. and Canada
  • Dan Wingard, sales territory manager, Southeast

AJA Video also has added dedicated sales reps in Asia and Europe. Eric Hamilton of Pacific Portals will oversee Asian resellers and distributors, and Matthew Causon of Phosphor will oversee Europe.

“What we’ve done is taken a look at how we are spending our money and what we are doing and made a decision that our company’s customers would be better served by having dedicated people — AJA employees calling and servicing our dealer channel,” said Paul Weiser, company VP of sales and marketing.

“We have brought together an interesting group,” Weiser said. “The most junior has been in the industry about 12 years and most senior 30 years,” he said. Weiser added that Button “fills a critical role” for the company because of his experience in the industry as an author, professional editor, owner of a post house and work experience with Autodesk and Avid, he said.

According to Weiser, changes to the company’s sales structure come during a period of growth; the company’s OEM, broadcast and post business has remained strong despite the general downturn in the U.S. economy.
