Leitch unveils an array of new products at NAB2005

Leitch introduced a new interface for its Velocity HD family that is being leveraged across all of its nonlinear edit systems. VelocityHD version 9.1 was shown at NAB2005 with native HDV support and variable frame rate processing for content shot with Panasonic’s VariCam HD camera. It also includes increased support for a variety of SD material.
Leitch also debuted its new NEXIO XNG, a portable field editing system that uses software codecs and effects processing. Users can either access content in the NEXIO storage area network using file transfers or edit locally until a remote connection to a NEXIO server can be established. The NEXIO XNG uses NEXIO’s MediaID technology to transfer video and audio clips back to the server (from any remote location).
The company also showed a new line of products based on technology it acquired from Inscriber, including the Inca Studio HD, a real-time, multi-layer live production HD graphics system. The system enables multiple channel effects on a single channel for breaking news or live events. Inca AutoCG HD is a central graphics playout solution that offers stillstore, character generator and clip player functionality in a single box.
The company also demonstrated new signal processing (X75 and NEO XHD) modules, master control and branding, and video server (NEXIO HD) products and systems, as well as its new Videotek TVM-950HD multiformat HD SDI monitor.
