FCC sued over auction policy

The Minority Media and Telecommunications Council, a non-profit advocate for civil rights in media, has sued the FCC over a recent change in rules for spectrum auctions.
The commission changed its rules in an attempt to prohibit large media companies from using smaller, often minority firms, as fronts in bidding for spectrum. The suit claims the rule change denies its members the flexibility to lease or sell out spectrum.
The suit seeks to undo the recent rule changes and to delay an upcoming auction in August for about 1200 licenses.
