Looking to enhance its services and expand product distribution, Andrew plans to acquire selected assets of ATC Tower Services, a division of American Tower. The agreement is valued at approximately $10 million, in both cash and lease obligations. The deal is expected to be complete in November.
As part of the transaction, Andrew, based in Orland Park, IL, will assume a significant portion of ATC’s 24 North American construction offices and approximately 340 employees. ATC Tower Services, based in Boston, is a general contractor construction company for wireless communications in North America, providing site installation services to wireless operators and prime contractors. The company reported more than $60 million in annual sales last year.
John DeSana, group president, Antenna and Cable Products, Andrew Corporation, said that adding ATC’s site installation expertise to the Andrew portfolio provides the company with an immediate national construction services presence and additional channel distribution opportunities for its products.
