The Cheetah’s 18RU frame will be used to cover the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has invested in a QuStream Cheetah HD digital video routing switcher for its sports division.
The system chosen consists of a Cheetah CX primary 256 x 256 chassis plus a secondary chassis into which up to 128 x 128 crosspoints can be transferred in a variety of configurations.
The new router is fully compatible with the EBU’s existing QuStream PESA SD router and control panel and provides the capability to route in HD, SD and a mix of the two.
The 18RU frame was tested at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the World Cup Rugby in Paris. The dual-chassis configuration will also be used to cover the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
QuStream's Cheetah CX series and its 448CX Flexi-Frame supports 256 x 448, 320 x 384 and 512 x 256 in 27RU. Rounding out the series is the 512CX, which offers 512 x 512 or 1024 x 256 in 41RU. Most CX frames accept QuStream's full range of output options including output monitoring.
