National Mobile Television sells CBS contracts, some trucks to NEP Broadcasting

Veteran mobile production facilities provider National Mobile Television (NMT) continues to restructure the company in an effort to decrease its debt. The company has now sold several trucks and contracts it has held with CBS Sports since 1998 to competitor NEP Broadcasting; no financial details were provided.
NMT will now focus on providing facilities to regional sports networks and outsource staffing services to the industry at large, according to Frank Coll, senior VP of operations for NMT.
With its newly acquired assets, NEP Broadcasting (and its mobile production truck division NEP Supershooters) will now support all scheduled tour and major championship golf broadcasts on network and cable television in the United States and add more NFL football and NCAA Championship events to its live, prime-time sports broadcasts.
Already a major provider of technical facilities to CBS for a number of high-profile events, the newly acquired contracts with CBS Sports includes PGA Tour Golf, the Masters Golf Tournament, NFL regular season and post-season games, NCAA regular season men's basketball games and the NCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Tournament.
To support these events, NEP has acquired two HD mobile production trucks (HD1 and HD12) and associated facilities. Both trucks carry Sony HDC-1500 HD cameras (with Fujinon lenses) and either a Sony MVS8000 (HD12) or Thomson Grass Valley Kalypso (HD1) HD switcher. NEP has also retained the engineering and technical employees of NMT, who are familiar with each mobile unit.
