AZCAR completes multiple HDTV projects for Turner Entertainment Networks

TNT's new HD facilities in Atlanta
Systems engineering and integration firm AZCAR Technologies has completed the installation of a new HDTV network master control facility and finished various HDTV upgrades to existing network transmission and media operations facilities at the Turner Entertainment Networks (TEN) headquarters facility in Atlanta.

TNT in HD went on the air May 10th and will eventually move into a new HDTV live integration control room nearing completion by AZCAR at Turner Studios on the TEN campus. The company also designed and engineered a new HDTV studio control room at Turner Studios that is scheduled to be finished in Q3/2004.

AZCAR provided conceptual and detailed design work for the TEN 198,000 sq ft facility, which was completed in 2001. In September 2003 AZCAR was awarded an engineering contract to work with Turner engineering on the design of the new HDTV master control facilities. The work includes a system infrastructure upgrade to handle service expansion, as well as outfitting several new areas for expanded capabilities.

AZCAR will exhibit at the upcoming IBC2004 conference Sept.10-14, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on stand 11.611.
