Bourbon Street HD has purchased a Thales Angenieux 26x7.8 HD telephoto lens. It is being used for a variety of commercial, documentary and action sports production projects.
The lens was used at the US Open of Snowboarding in Stratford, VT, the Baja 500 in Mexico, and "Coachella" — a two-day music festival in Palm Springs, CA.
Weighing more than 4lbs, the telephoto zoom lens offers a focal range of 7.8mm to 203mm, (15.6mm to 406 mm with a 2x extender) and a fast aperture of f/2.2. A rectangular sunshade minimizes light interference. The lens is also resistant to condensation, dust and rain.
Digital features of the 26x7.8 include selectable zoom/focus sensitivity adjustments, an anti-breathing feature to maintain field of view when focusing, RS-232 control and Thales Angenieux’s Assisted Internal Focus technology, for fast and precise focus control at any zoom speed.
