Chyron unveils HyperX SD, HD character generator

Chyron introduced the real-time HyperX multi-format CG platform, which uses high-speed bus architecture with advanced 3-D rendering engine technology to deliver SD and HD solutions.</>

The HyperX is housed in a 4RU frame and has triple redundant hot-swappable power supplies, up to 4GB of memory and support for up to 10 drives.

The HyperX can be configured as an SD- or HD-only CG or can output both SD and HD simultaneously. A typical configuration might include two SD channels, an HD channel and an SD clip player.

For sports or entertainment environments, the HyperX can be configured as a real-time HD CG. It can also be coupled with Clyps-HD, Chyron’s new HD graphics clip server. Both devices can be controlled by Lyric, Chyron’s format-independent content creation and playout software. Chyron’s SSX still-store software is also available.

The HyperX is housed in a 4RU frame and has triple redundant hot-swappable power supplies, up to 4GB of memory and support for up to 10 drives. Almost all standard Chyron options are available. The product is expected to ship with SD cards in May, and with HD cards in June.
