DPA Microphones introduces cardioid headband microphone and WINDPAC system

The DPA 4088 headband microphone has a capsule with a pre-polarized pressure-gradient transducer. Bass response is designed for optimal linearity at 2 to 3 centimeters distance from the sound source and substantial gain before feedback.

A second new DPA product is the WINDPAC, a weather- and water-resistant windshield system for use with microphones in outdoor location recording applications. The system, comprised of a shock mount and a collapsible windshield, weighs in at 9 ounces and is designed to work with microphones of any brand. The collapsible zeppelin-shaped windshield is made from a fabric that blocks wind noise in gusts of up to 70mph while allowing accurate sound reproduction and audio transparency.
