Kreatel's IP-STB 1520

Kreatel Communications has launched a new IP-based set-top box with a built-in DVB-T tuner that combines access to digital terrestrial television, IPTV and enhanced services.

The IP-STB 1520, a hybrid set-top box that combines the stable IP-STB features with a DVB-T receiver, offers access to free-to-air broadcasts. Required bandwidth can also be reduced as RF cable can be used for digital TV instead of IP multicast.

Premium television content can also be a part of the service bundling, either offered in partnership with terrestrial broadcasters, or offered by the operator over IP. All TV channels, regardless of broadcast method, are seamlessly integrated in the same channel table.

The IP/DVB-T hybrid set-top box is an addition to the product family based on the Kreatel IP-STB 1500 platform, built around the ATI XILLEON chip. All products in the IP-STB 1500 series enable operators to offer IP services such as video on demand, e-mail, Internet, online games in DSL and fiber networks.
