NEP Supershooters uses Grass Valley TCP/IP-based camera control system for multiformat sports production

Veteran mobile production company NEP Supershooters has purchased the Grass Valley C2IP Ethernet-based TCP/IP camera control system from Thomson to manage the dozens of cameras it uses during SD and HD sports production for ABC and ESPN Sports.

The C2IP camera control system enables NEP to blend standard component and networking technologies with broadcast-level capabilities, said George Hoover, senior vice president and general manager of NEP Supershooters LP.

The first C2IP system was installed by Thomson engineers in NEP Supershooters’ SS-20 HD truck, in time for the fall debut of ESPN’s live “Sunday Night Football” telecasts, while a second C2IP system will go into a new NEP HD truck by the end of this year.
