PanAmSat launches news service

Amidst the announcement that it will be acquired by KKR for $4.3 billion, PanAmSat moved forward with launching its PASport news service, a global broadcasting service for the transmission of breaking news and live events around the world.

With 24 access points, a 24-satellite and 22,000-mile video fiber network, PanAmSat offers customers around the globe a quick manageable way to access the company’s content for uplinking to satellite networks. PASport enables PanAmSat to combine fiber service capabilities that stretch from Europe to Singapore, with more than 400 satellite paths on 14 global satellites resulting in a competitive broadcast contribution network in terms of size and completeness.
