Pinnacle Systems to integrate Grampian TV production switcher, clip server into Aberdeen studio

Grampian TV has selected Pinnacle Systems to integrate both the PDS 9000i production switcher and Thunder LT clip server into its new, dedicated Aberdeen studio.

Part of SMG plc's television division, Grampian TV deployed the products with the studio's official launch June 30.

The new studio will be solely focused on production of news and current affairs programming, extending Grampian TV's regional service in the north of Scotland broadcast area.

Pinnacle's PDS 9000i production switcher has been designed specifically for mid-market live production news and local interest programming. With a similar news focus, the Thunder LT clip server combines the capabilities of a still store, clip store, mixer and DVE in a compact, cost-effective package.

Grampian TV's latest studio facility represents a positive move forward as the company looks to broaden news and current affairs offerings to its 1.2 million viewers. The operation will be a dedicated, state-of-the-art solution designed to bring to the region an unparalleled level of service in local, national and international news programming.
