Middle Eastern pay-TV platform, Showtime, owned and operated by Gulf DTH, has selected Pro-Bel’s Sirius routing switcher for its new state-of-the-art Broadcast Centre based in the Dubai Media City. The new facility, which will also accommodate Showtime's headquarters, is set to be operational in June.
The Pro-Bel Sirius 128x128 router will interface to ingest and playout automation systems in the Dubai Media City, providing Showtime with fast, automatic conversion of any analog or digital signal.
Showtime's relocation to Dubai will see a consolidation of its broadcast operations, which are currently based in London and Cairo. The installation, including playout and satellite DVT technology, is being installed by systems integrator Sony Professional Services.
