WPBT, the public TV station in Miami, Fla., has purchased a 52-channel Sigma 100 digital console from Calrec for a digital upgrade to its Studio A control room. The new digital audio console will be used for a variety of original programs produced in-house as well as for outside client productions.
WPBT produces the top-rated “Nightly Business Report,” as well as the nationally distributed “Star Gazer with Jack Horkheimer,” the statewide newsmagazine “New Florida” and the local public affairs series “Issues and Viewpoint.”
Graham Simmons, senior vice president of the station’s Engineering and Operations, said that he had purchased a 60-channel Calrec S2 console for one of WPBT’s remote production trucks and was pleased with its performance.
