The FCC changed the location for filing the “DTV Quarterly Activity Station Report” (Form 388) June 16 to the Consolidated DataBase System (CDBS) from the Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS) as originally specified in its DTV Consumer Education Order.

Broadcasters are obligated to file Form 388 to demonstrate their compliance with new commission rules mandating they inform viewers on-air of the February 2009 DTV transition. Following the first filing, which was due April 10, the commission determined broadcasters are more familiar with filing these sorts of forms in the CDBS.

Beginning with the reports covering the second quarter of 2008, due July 10, 2008, the form must be filed in the CDBS, instead of ECFS. According to the commission, this change will not create an additional burden on broadcasters.
