Commission to hold second localism meeting in Texas

The second of six meetings to be held around the country to examine how well broadcasters are doing at serving the needs of their local communities is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2004, in San Antonio, Texas.

According to a statement from the Commission, Chairman Michael Powell and Commissioners Kathleen Abernathy, Michael Copps and Jonathan Adelstein will attend the Localism Task Force meeting scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Plaza Building City Council Chamber.

Originally scheduled for December, the meeting was moved to January to accommodate scheduling conflicts.

The meeting will include remarks from invited guests, presentations, questions from the chairman and commissioners and a chance for the general public attending the meeting to ask questions and make comments during an open microphone session.
