Concurrent introduces Intelligent Asset Management technology

Concurrent Computer Corporation, a provider of on-demand television technology, has introduced an Intelligent Asset Management solution for television broadcasting. The company recently filed a patent application for the new technology.

Intelligent Asset Management, said Concurrent, eases much of the burden on operators who have to manage the variety of on-demand television content. The system accepts new content, places it on the video server, and moves it around the system on a demand basis as the content is being requested.

The technology optimizes the process of managing the content, thus ensuring peak performance, even during high-usage times. For instance, its system automatically places more popular content on servers closer to their customers, optimizing storage space, facilitating improved traffic flow and efficiently managing network bandwidth requirements.
