Andy Fisher, president of Cox Television, has been elected chairman of the NABâ€™s TV Board, which represent the organizationâ€™s TV station members.
Fisherâ€™s career with Cox began in 1984 as vice president and general manager of WSB-TV in Atlanta. Since 1990, he was named executive vice-president, television affiliates, and served as executive vice president-television until becoming Cox's president in 2001.
Previously, Fisher was a news executive and reporter. From 1975 to 1984, he served as news director at WPRI-TV, Providence, RI; assistant news director at WCAU-TV, Philadelphia and WBBM-TV, Chicago; and news director at WAGA-TV, Atlanta, and KCBS, Los Angeles.
Ben Tucker, president of Fisher Broadcasting, was elected NAB TV board vice chairman. Both he and Fisher will serve on the NABâ€™s executive committee.
