Crosscreek Television adds Calrec console to new HD truck

Crosscreek Television Productions, in Alabaster, AL, has selected a Calrec Sigma with Bluefin audio console for Voyager 8, its new HD production truck.

The company’s clients include ESPN, FOX Sports, Speed Channel and TBS Baseball. The new truck will be used primarily to cover National Hot Rod Association drag racing, but also for major league and college sports and live musical performances.

Calrec’s Sigma consoles are equipped with Bluefin High Density Signal Processing, a technology that packs more signal processing power into less space. According to the company, it saves power while enhancing durability.

Calrec Sigma consoles with Bluefin have 320 channel processing paths packaged as 108 stereo and 104 mono channels, allowing up to 52 x 5.1 surround channels. The board includes 64 faders in a 6:6:6 frame.

Calrec customized the Crosscreek unit with a stand so the board can rest on a tabletop, creating additional space for equipment beneath it.
