Danish public service broadcaster deploys Dalet Enterprise Edition

DR, the public service broadcaster of Denmark, has deployed Dalet Enterprise Edition to power its newsroom operations.

The system is running at 12 different sites, including all of DR's regional locations and its new broadcast headquarters in Copenhagen. The system’s implementation, which required complex integration with graphics, broadcast and customized production systems, was planned and executed over three years.

The Dalet Enterprise Edition implementation at DR was carefully staged, beginning with one, then all of the regional radio operations, which were already using Dalet Radio solutions for audio production and radio broadcasting. The project progressed to the principal radio and TV networks, totaling more than 2000 client workstations and five distinct databases connected together serving the various DR sites.

At DR, Dalet Enterprise Edition provides a comprehensive, editorially driven workflow for news operations including multilanguage wire ingest, scripting, story templates, assignment and planning tools, multilevel rundown support with story status, advanced timing management, and on-air show time tracking. Based on tightly controlled rights and permissions, Dalet also simplified the ability to control and share content among different operations. The show-tracking and metadata management capabilities in Dalet Enterprise Edition also enable DR to automate the publication of video news content to its Web sites.
