Discretix, DiBcom, Expway team up for complete mobile TV reference design

DiBcom, Expway and Discretix introduced their end-to-end mobile TV reference design at the 2009 Mobile World Congress. The vertically integrated design reduces both risk and time-to-market for mobile device OEMs, the partners say.

The reference design includes:

• DiBcom's integrated, low-power mobile TV receiver for standard subscription and free-to-air terrestrial digital TV signals; DiBcom mobile and portable TV reception chipsets are available for in-vehicle video screens, PCs and handheld devices.
• Expway Electronic Service Guide, a widely implemented, interoperable platform for mobile TV content.
• Discretix Multi-Scheme Mobile TV Security Client, which secures mobile TV content distribution and viewing, and enables a range of services and business models.
