DuPont Displays has formed a new business unit to develop technologies to boost flat panel display performance in demanding applications.
The new business unit combines the strengths of two existing DuPont businesses: DuPont Holographics, a producer of holographic reflector enhancements, and Polar Vision, a provider of optically enhanced high performance displays.
Focused on light management, sunlight readability, and ruggedization for extreme environmental conditions, the new division is targeting products ranging from holographic reflectors, bonded-glass enhancements and high-brightness backlight systems up to fully integrated display modules.
Specific benefits include improved viewability, impact resistance, viewing angle control, thermal management, EMI/RFI shielding and contrast enhancement.
