A long-time player in the management of program content as digital media files, IBIS has announced two new orders totaling nearly $450,000 from all-sports network ESPN for its automation software.
The first is for a SprinTx Newsroom automation system to be installed at a pilot project at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn. The SprinTx system comprises video server management applications, ingest and acquisition tools, and IBIS playout applications running with a MOS interface for complete, hands-free machine control.
The second order, which has been placed by the ESPN Desportes Channel, a new full-time Spanish-language network, slated to launch Jan. 7, is for a number of IBIS process management tools to work in a highly redundant, multiple video server environment. The company said its applications would help ESPN track the acquisition of sports material and the status of those video clips throughout the editing and workflow process. The IBIS ServerBase and ServerLoad products, both fundamental elements of the company’s LiveTx process automation and centralization system, are key to this workflow management process.
