Eutelsat has been named an official sponsor of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, and will provide the Turin Olympics organizing committee with 50 video channels for the duration of the Games used to broadcast to sites of competition, the Olympic Villages and Media Villages.

Twenty live channels of Olympics coverage with live coverage from each of the 13 sites of competition will be provided. Another 30 television channels will enable the Olympic community to follow coverage from national and international television channels.

The package will be delivered directly to 5,000 plasma screens and monitors located at the competition sites, three Olympic Villages, and seven Media Villages during the games.
