EVS delivers for Pan American Games host broadcaster ISB

EVS Broadcast Equipment is supplying technology that’s playing a critical role for ISB, the host broadcaster of the ongoing Pan American Games 2007 in Rio de Janeiro.
EVS is providing an integrated production workflow, handling media management of 14 different feeds and a complete end-to-end solution for logging, archive and highlights production.
Seven EVS XT[2] servers combined with seven XFile storage devices make up the core acquisition, production and archiving technology of the games. Every second of every event will be logged through 20 EVS IP Director logging stations, which attach logs and keywords to all video content ingested into the media servers (XT[2] network).
During the 16-day event, more than 1000 hours of content will be recorded in IMX30 resolution directly onto the XT[2] servers. Footage is being browsed and retrieved with the IP Director, then made instantly available on two seats of EVS' nonlinear CleanEdit edit stations for daily highlights creation. The XFiles act as a secure gateway between the XT[2] servers and the CleanEdit stations, automatically background archiving and backing-up the live ingested media and logging metadata.
A comprehensive Tape Library Management System (TLMS) developed specifically for the host broadcast operation automatically creates and prints labels for tape and DVD deliverables. All printing activity is logged and all tape movement is managed and tracked.
The Pan American Games are a continental version of the Olympic Games, which includes both Olympic sports and other disciplines suggested by the competition organization and approved by the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO).
