EVS XT[2] servers offer interoperability with Avid DNxHD

EVS Broadcast Equipment has announced that Avid DNxHD can be natively encoded and decoded by its XT[2] production and playout server.

The Avid DNxHD HD codec is engineered to optimize non-linear editing, complex multi-generation compositing, color correction and effects. It offers the image quality of uncompressed HD material at SD data rates. Avid DNxHD technology supports the MXF standard, thereby ensuring that media can be exchanged with other MXF-compatible systems, such as EVS devices.

This native support allows XT[2] servers to deliver broadcasters direct access to clips and media in live and near-live environments, such as sports or news production, where Avid systems are commonly used for post production.
